Carving Pumpkins

Lily Ann got to watch her daddy carve her first pumpkin.. And what an experience it was. The pumpkin was so thick Jacob could barely cut into the top of the pumpkin because it was at least 2 inches thick.LOL!! After we decided on a pattern (you know the ones that come with the carving kit) he proceeded to carve the pumpkin literally breaking off all the blades in the pumpkin.. I've never seen someone work so hard to carve such a simple pumpkin. Finally the pumpkin was done..

We have a running joke with Lily Ann to smile.. We don't ever get smiles we get these:

Pumpkin Patch

Jacob, Georgia, and I took Lily Ann to her first pumpkin patch yesterday morning! It was a true fall day. We woke up yesterday morning and it was in the low 50's (which is freezing down here) and breezy.. I had to search through her closet to find something warm to wear. For one, she is still really small and only a few things fit her and for another you really don't need winter clothes in this part of Florida..LOL!! Mom had bought her some winter clothes for when we come home to Arkansas for Christmas to get her baptized but those are still way to big..So she ended up wearing a cardigan that Nanny (Great-Grandmother) knitted for her and she looked absolutely adorable!! Daddy had a hard time picking out a pumpkin because he likes them with big steams and there really weren't any good ones, so he settled for a larger pumpkin that he would regret carving.. I'll share this story later..LOL!! Here's some pics from yesterday!!

What a busy week!!

We had such a busy week last week. I didn't get time to write any new posts.. So this one will probably be long because I have so many good pics.. LOl!! Jacob worked last Monday and Tuesday so Lily Ann and I just stayed around here doing normal house stuff.. And we did pretty much the same on Wednesday and Thursday.. Friday, Jacob's mom and brother flew in. Luke was here until this morning.. He is in the Army and getting ready to head back to Iraq in December and this was the only time he was going to be able to come down and see Lily Ann before he leaves.. Georgia is here until Nov. 4th. We had a very fun but fast weekend.. We are all very tired today!! Uncle Luke and Jacob actually babysat for a couple of hours on Sat. night so I could go out with the girls!! It was very nice to get away even if it was just for a little while!! On Saturday the Station held a Halloween Party for the children and we all went.. We originally were going to dress Lily Ann up as a pack of birth control pills.. But by the time we got through making the costume we realized that the fumes from the paint were probably not good for her.. So we opted for a onsie, with hats, and socks.!!

Lily Ann woke up this morning and decided that she wanted noting to do with her swing or play mat so we decided to get the Bumbo seat out to see if she would like it..And she did for about 5 minutes and then was done with it.. I think it's pretty good that she could sit in it at 6 weeks.. She's getting so big and amazes us everyday!!

What a great weekend!

Jacob got home from duty on Friday morning and was soo excited to see Lily Ann as soon as he came in he immediately went and got her up so I could get a little more sleep!! She is truly already a Daddy's girl!! Friday night we went out to dinner with Stephanie and Brian down in Bonita Springs.. We got up on Sat. morning and took Lily Ann and Amber for a walk around the neighborhood since we were having a community garage sale!(Which we over slept and didn't do) Saturday night Stephanie and Brian came over and watched the Red Sox game and then we met back up with them Sunday afternoon to eat lunch and watch football.. We stayed busy all weekend long!! We are soo excited because Georgia and Luke are coming to visit this weekend! Luke will be leaving for Iraq in November.. He will finally get to meet Lily Ann and won't see her for a whole year.. I can only imagine what she will be like when he gets back!! She is also excited to meet her Grandmother.. I know we will all have soo much fun!! I'm sure there will be a lot of shopping involved!! (That's all we did today!! :) ) Lily Ann had the great idea to go shopping today so I agreed!! (LOL!!) We went to Dillard's and couldn't resist a couple of the cutest outfits which she will fit into in good time!! I truly believe that she has a thing for shopping she's always so happy when we do shop so I think we should do it more often even though Jacob disagrees!! We are looking forward to this weekend and can't wait for everyone to get here!!

We made it through the night!

Wow what a long 24 hours!! Lily Ann was not happy that her daddy went back to work yesterday! She started crying an hour or so after he left for work and didn't really stop until about 1 am.LOL!! She was so exhausted and would try to sleep but would wake up 2 minutes later, I think most of it was gas! I think she slept a total of maybe 2 hours all day long so by 1am she couldn't make it anymore! She slept until 4am when she woke up for a feeding. She then fell back asleep a little before 5 and then wanted to get back up at 7 but I got her to sleep until 8 for her next feeding! Jacob got home from work a little before 9am so he took her so I could sleep for a couple of hours before my doctors appointment! Of course today, "Hollywood" was the perfect baby again! I have a feeling she's going to be playing the game of when Jacob's at work she cries and when he's home she's perfect..LOL!! I am so lucky to have such a fabulous husband who would do anything for me and our daughter! I love to sit and watch him play with her and the way he looks and talks to her melts my heart! I could not have picked a better man!!

Our First Day Alone Together!

Today is mine and Lily Ann's first day and night together by ourselves. Jacob went back to duty this morning so it will just be the 2 of us and Amber! To make the day go by quicker we have decided to go and get our hair done.. Well mine at least as seeing Lily Ann only has fuzz! LOL! We are going to go and visit Stephanie at work and maybe do some shopping as well! I'm going to try and keep her up as much as possible today so she will sleep good tonight! She actually slept from around 10:30 pm-4 am, which was good even though she missed her 2 am feeding! Amber is so funny when she wakes in the middle of the night! She does not like to be woke up, especially to crying. LOL!! As soon as Lily Ann starts to fuss Amber is first to let me know that I need to get the baby up and out of the room! She will grunt and start to kick me until I get her up.. God forbid we interrupt the dog's sleep!! LOL! I don't know why she does that because as soon as I get up she's right behind me on my heels until we get back to bed! Silly dog! Keep your fingers crossed everything runs smoothly tonight!! I'm sure it will!

Lily Ann's First Mini Vacay!!

We took Lily Ann to Ft. Lauderdale on Friday for her Daddy's softball tournament! I guess you could call this her first mini vacay! It was a very long day on Friday! She over slept (which is good any other day) not waking until almost 6 am and we had to leave the house by 7 am. So that gave me and Jacob an hour to feed, get her ready, take down the Pak n Play, load the truck, and make sure we had enough diapers, bottles, change of clothes, blankets, etc.. Let alone get ourselves ready. Jacob refers to this as packing for a small army!! LOL! Needless to say we were out the door at 7. With a full belly she slept the whole 2 hours not waking once. Jacob's first game was at 11. It was so hot and muggy, I had to strip Lily Ann down to just her onesie. We made it for only one game and went to the hotel and checked in. Jacob's team won all 3 games and met us back at the hotel around 4.. We decided to go to the mall and walk around just to get out for a little while.. and wouldn't you know the AC was out in all the stores so we didn't stay long.. We then retired back to the room and went to bed.. Jacob's next game was this morning at 9.. Which Lily Ann "Hollywood" (as her Godmother calls her) did not make because it was too early for us and she didn't sleep that good during the night! By the time we got to the field before 2 the guys had lost their game and they were done! So we headed home!! It was a very relaxing time for Lily Ann and I... We literally just laid around while Jacob was all hot and sweaty!

I'm new to this... Bare with me!!

Well lets see here.. My Mom and sister really wanted me to do this so they can keep up with everything that Lily Ann is doing..LOL!!

Lily Ann was born on September 12, 2008 at 12:36 pm weighing 6 lbs & 14 oz. I was induced at 6 am due to high blood pressure! They started the pitocin at 6am and at 10:30 am I had still not dilated, so they decided to break my water. By 11 am I was in so much pain that they had giving me some pain and anti nausea medicine to take the edge off! The Dr. had told me that he didn't want me having an epidural until I was 4 centimeters dilated so I had to wait! By 11:45 am I was at 4 centimeters so they had called the Anesthesiologist for the epidural at Noon the Doctor came back in and said that it was going to be a while because the Anesthesiologist was in an emergency C-Section! By this time I was in sooo much pain I couldn't take it anymore! Around 12:25 pm the pain became more than I could handle and the nurse went to check me and the next thing I heard was page the Doctor and the nurse telling me if I need to push than push! 10 Minutes later Lily Ann was born! It was the most amazing feeling in the world to see this little baby that you and your husband had made together! We both instantly fell in love with her!! We waited over 3 years for her and she is well worth it!!

Lily Ann is now 27 days old and is so much fun! She is starting to stay awake more during the day and is such a happy and chill baby!! The only time she gets upset is when she gets hungry, which is every 4-5 hours! She is also sleeping so good at night, only waking once to feed! We have really lucked out with such an amazing baby girl!

Today started out sad! We took Mom and Dad to the airport this morning to fly back to Arkansas after a 10 day stay!! I honestly didn't know I would get so upset when they left! They were such a big help with Lily Ann and we all enjoyed every minute of it!! I can't wait to see them and my sisters when we go home for Christmas!!
