So we took LA to her 6 month check up and shots on Monday. It seems that our little girl is very healthy! LOL!! She's 26 inches and weighs in at a whopping 19lbs and 14oz. I knew that she was getting big but didn't realize how big she really was..LOL!! She is at the top of the charts for her weight and we were told once again that we were over feeding her! When she was first born we were over feeding her then we were under feeding her and now it seems that we are over feeding her again!! HAHAHA!! She was getting 4-8oz bottles a day, rice cereal for breakfast, 1 jar of fruit for lunch and 1 jar of vegetables for dinner.. We were over feeding her with formula and not feeding her enough food.. Go figure.. So now she is getting 4-6oz bottles a day, rice cereal for breakfast, half a jar of fruit, vegetables, and meats (which she hates) for lunch and dinner! Jacob says no wonder she doesn't want to crawl she can't get her belly up off the floor she's going to have to roll everywhere...HAHAHA!! So the doctor wants her to maintain her weight for the next few months.. It seems that everyone in the household is on a diet except the dog..
LA has always done great at the doctors especially when getting her shots. In the past she has always just gave a little whimper when getting the shots and then goes back to being a happy baby.. Well that was not the case this time.. She cried the whole time when the doctor was giving her the exam, ears, tummy, mouth, etc. and then when the nurse came in for her shots LA made it known that she was not happy! She started off great. Jacob and I on either side of her holding her little hands.. The nurse gave her the oral medicine first. She was taking it like a champ and then realized that it was the nurse and not her mom or dad and then freaked out!! Then it was time for the shots.. One in one leg and two in the other.. OMG!! I have never seen my daughter hold her breathe (I think she may have broke a world record!) and when she finally took her breathe the big crocodile tears were flowing followed by agonizing screams.. Jacob and I both had tears in our eyes because we have never seen her that upset.. Ugghhh it just broke our hearts.. As soon as the third shot was given I picked her up to comfort her.. She stopped crying for a second and then whipped her head around and looked at the nurse glared those piercing blue eyes at her as if to say "what did you do to me?" We all started laughing and the nurse told her she was sorry and she glared again and then starting screaming all over again.. The nurse then walked back over to the computer and LA did she same thing again.. We laughed again through the screams.. I couldn't get her to settle down so Jacob took her and within 5 seconds she was calm.. I guess she just needed her Daddy's big arms to comfort her..Even in her Daddy's arms the mean stares did not stop for the nurse..LOL!! We loaded up and by the time we got out of the parking lot LA was fast asleep.. It was a whole new experience for us and one that I am glad hasn't happened before.. So needless to say our baby girl is "Healthy!"
